Here you can find out more information about the work progress at Northside Bridge in Workington.
The original bridge collapsed into the River Derwent in the 2009 Cumbria floods and work is currently underway to replace it with a brand new structure, replacing the temporary road bridge that was installed in April 2010.
Cumbria County Council's highways team and contractors Birse Civils celebrated the official start to works on the permanent Northside Bridge on Wednesday 17 August 2011 and anticipate that the works will be completed in Summer 2012. The £11.17m bridge has been funded by the Department for Transport.
