Access Keys:
During the production of the Cumbria ROWIP members of the public were invited to send in their improvement suggestions between November 2005 and February 2006. We had over 1500 ideas submitted. These have been subsequently scored and mapped using a priority scoring system that had been developed as part of the research.
In conjunction with our ROWIP partners (the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Park Authorities) and supported by other key organisations within the Cumbria Countryside Access Partnership who are responsible for countryside access we now produce Annual Action Plans each financial year which include a number of high scoring individual ROWIP suggestions from the original research phase.
We continue to work with local landowners and the communities concerned to take every possible step to make these improvement suggestions a reality on the ground.
It is never too late to let us know about more improvement ideas you may have. These will be scored and added to the project database. If you have an idea for a new link, improvement to an existing route or an idea for a promotional walk or leaflet then please do fill out an action suggestion form
and return on e-mail or to the postal address provided.
