The Westfield Greenway is a linear route providing enjoyable access all year round for walkers, cyclists, wheelchair users and those with pushchairs and young children. The trail has a good concrete surface along its full length and provides fine flora and fauna views as you follow the coastline.
Route Description

Distance: 3.5 km (2.2 miles) one way, 7km (4.5 miles) return trip
Time to walk: 4 hours (approximate) including restpoints (return trip)
Terrain: A mostly flat, wide concrete or tarmac surface which does have one uphill/downhill section
Start Point: The Cumbria Wildlife Trust car park is halfway along the causeway that leads to Roa Island (Grid Reference - SD 233656, Post Code - LA13 0PU). Please note the car park is uneven with a steep exit ramp, dropped kerbs do exist on the road before the start of the route
Public Transport: The Westfield Trial is served by the Stagecoach 11 bus service (not a low floor vehicle) check getting around section for further details. This service is limited on Saturdays and does not run on Sundays
