Open Access in Cumbria

The Countryside and Rights of Way Act introduced a new right of access on foot to land that was mapped as 'access land'.  This process was completed in Cumbria in May 2005.

Altogether, 2137 square kilometres of land was mapped as access land in Cumbria.  Below you can download a map illustrating the coverage of Cumbria's access land.  (Note - this map is for illustration purposes only).
