Since the Respect campaign was launched in April 2006 Cumbria Constabulary have used the Respect message to engage with people throughout the county and promote the ideals of good manners and civility to reduce incidents of anti-social behaviour.
Assistant Chief Constable Graham Sunderland, who has been a driving force behind the Respect campaign in Cumbria, said: “Anti-social behaviour can ruin lives for individuals and whole communities. We will not tolerate individuals whose inconsiderate behaviour affects the lives of others and the Respect campaign is about reassuring the people of Cumbria that we will actively target these people and challenge their behaviour.
“Every resident in Cumbria has a part to play with Respect as we all need to take responsibility for our actions and those of our families and children. We need to support those who do the same and challenge those who do not.”
